Juno Beach
|
This quiet oceanfront community has a small-town
atmosphere, and was the southern most terminus of the four original stops
of the Celestial Railroad. The other three stops included juno~beach, Mars
and Venus. With a population of about 2,600, Juno Beach is tucked neatly
between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, and is a
favorite retirement, fishing and vacation retreat. In the winter months,
the population almost triples because of the many amenities the community
has to offer. Not to mention it is just a few minutes from Roger Dean
Stadium, the home for spring training of the Montreal Expos and St. Louis
Cardinals. Additionally, Juno features the new Juno Beach County Park with
a new fishing pier, as well as the Loggerhead County Park, with an
oceanfront nature trail, Marine Life Center, bike path, and tennis court.
From May to September each year, guides from the Marine Life Center
introduce newcomers to turtle watching as the sea turtles return to the
beaches to lay their eggs. Juno is fast becoming a destination for year
around residence and offers a small town atmosphere that is fast becoming
extinct in South Florida. |
